I have dedicated this page to share my thoughts on a number of things. Firstly, painters or paintings that are particularly important to me. Secondly, the reasons that I sometimes return to the same subject time and time again in my own painting. 

The list will grow over time. I will attempt to say what it is about their work that I feel has some commonality with my own work.

I would also like to talk about light and the paint surface as these things are very important to me.
